When canning make sure you check what elevation you live at…. the higher up in elevation the more time the jars will need in their hot water bath. Trust me I have lost many batches due to this and it’s very upsetting when you have to toss stuff, after all your hard work. So kind of like cutting things, check twice then can once😉🥫
That time of year to start pickling😋the light colored peppers are banana and the other jar has a slew of different types-banana, jalapeños, bells, serano etc… Just mineral parts vinegar and water with a bit of sugar (2 tblsp for every 2 cups vinegar) and a couple cloves crushed garlic. Bring liquid to boil then pour into jar stuffed with the peppers & garlic and lid that bad boy😋🤗🌶That’s right, it’s time for pickles again! Can’t beat Recipe Girls bread & Butter recipe that I just tweak …. a bit more brown sugar & I add red pepper flakes😋
Need a top wrapper to shrink but no heat gun…. try your hair dryer on the hottest setting and bamWith COVID i decided to try making something new that is super helpful, elderberry syrup😋dried elderberry, cloves, cinnamon sticks, dried echinacea & honey with lots & lots of water… trick is to add the honey once the liquid has reduced and cooled. Ours came out more like a juice then syrup but I’m not complaining and neither are the kids
