HOUSEHOLD RECIPES
- Homemade Disinfecting Spray- Again fill up your aerosol spray bottle almost full with super filter water or distilled water. Next add your antibacterial of choice (I actually will use both) either Tea Tree or Thieves 10-15 drops. Then add some extra oomph to the germ killing power with 5-10 drops Young Living RC, and finish off with your smell of choice. I love the smell of citrus so I will usually use 10-15 drops Lemon or Citrus Fresh. And there you have it, no need to buy Lysol again and it’s a safer bet to spray on toys that your little ones touch.
- Homemade Bathroom Spray: Fill up your aerosol spray bottle (Amazon has a few great option, got us a 3 pack) almost full with distilled or super filtered water. Next add whatever essential oils you want your bathroom to smell like. For everyday use (and not a holiday, I like to match smells to holidays) I like to use 10-15 drops Lavender and about 10-15 drops Orange and 1-5 drops Tea Tree or Thieves (these aren’t necessary but help as they are antibacterial)
- Homemade Antibacterial Wipes (Kitchen or Bath)- This recipe I learned and tweaked from a dear friend. Get yourself a wide 1 gallon glass jar with lid (Target & Walmart carry great inexpensive options). Next take a roll of paper towels (Costco’s Kirkland brand fit perfectly) and using a serrated knife cut the roll in half, then knock off some of the shredding, now slide that cut roll right into the jar and remove the cardboard center. Next mix 2 cups water, 2 tablespoons Dr Bronner’s pure Castile soap, 1/8 cup rubbing alcohol, 1/8 cup vinegar and 15-20 drops Thieves or Tea Tree oil (how much depends on how scented you want it). Next stir your water mixture and then slowly pour it over your cut paper towel roll, pouring from the inside out. And there you go no more Clorox wipes needed
